Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"[COVERED]: We reviewed two passages from Practice MCAT sets. The first was a critique of a specific educational reform. The second was on the ways in which cultural assumptions limit science. We covered the relevant vocab, phrasing, word-construction, and question-attack strategy. [PROGRESS/CHALLENGES]: The student appreciated the help, both in vocab and in the scholastic assumptions made by the passages."
"The student and I spent tonight's session reviewing his homework assignment from our last class. He had taken on the medium and hard level problems from two assignments. I walked him through many of the problems, trying to point out the commonalities in solutions. In our next class, we will continue with a bit of math before we turn to sentence correction."
"Today we focused on the verbal section, going over sentence modifiers as well as the tough extinction passage. The student will review the modifiers, as this is an important topic (in GMAT as well as business writing!). I think reading comprehension is going decently. We also did three good IR problems that we will review in our next session."
