Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we covered sample/populations standard deviations and variances, calculating them by hand and comparing spread. We calculating quartiles and used Q1 and Q3 to obtain upper and lower fences for the purposes of identifying outliers. We also covered calculating z scores and how to interpret them. I will be scheduling another session with the student to help him review."
"She and I worked today mainly on her homework relating to estimating population parameters, z scores, t scores, and necessary sample sizes. She has her next exam coming up on Wednesday, so we're working on getting her ready for that. She seems to be catching onto topics more quickly now that we've had a few sessions together, and we'll continue to get her ready for her exam when we meet again on Tuesday. In the meantime, she is going to work on her homework some more and take her first practice quiz."
"The client is just starting introductory statistics and wanted help understanding basic concepts. We started with properties of the normal distribution, variance, and standard deviation and also went over their computational formulas and many of the symbols she will need to know throughout her class."
"The student and I continued to work on probability and the normal distribution. We also added in some binomial problems."
"The student and I continued working on her project. We examined ANOVA tests and simple linear regression. We went over p-values. She wants to focus on knowing which tools to use for any given scenario that has analyses of data. I will come up with a tool to help her with this. She is making excellent progress on her project as well as understanding the concepts we are working on. She is an awesome student."
"The student and I covered a lot of the older Algebra/Math topics that were on her previous courses. My goal this time around was to boost her math confidence towards her old content so she can move forward to the next few weeks. I gave her a lot of practice problems to study from and guided her on tutorials to tackle the problems directly. She feels a lot more confident from this session. I will be continuing to push hard towards her progress to make sure she does well in her math classes."
