"Did a few practice problems over Archimedes' Principle, buoyancy, and force and pressure relations. Student learns very quickly and knows the concepts very well. Remember to start off with key words to find the appropriate equation and know unit conversions very well. Gave the student 3 extra practice problems."
"During the session we covered summing the forces in the vertical and horizontal directions. We also discussed the application of kinematics to Newton's Laws in order to find quantities such as acceleration, displacement, time, and velocity. The student's only issue this session was algebraically manipulating the formulas to isolate certain variables. But this was only a minor setback, as he quickly caught on. I suggested that he break the problems into pieces that could be solved systematically with the given quantities and equations. He flew through the problems in this session! Nice work!"
"For today's session, the student and I reviewed the early part of what we covered over summer. We reviewed charge, static charge distribution, Coulomb's force, electric field and the relationships between electric values (force, field, potential energy and potential). I tried to work more specific examples this time to demonstrate what aspects of mathematics will be involved."
