The student and I went over his most recent vocabulary list, words concerning the home. I am trying to base the tutoring on his specific learning style, which is definitely visual. I drew pictures for the vocab and used flash cards. I really try to converse with him on the side in English, we laugh a lot, and then I'll say things to him in Spanish to attempt to immerse him in what we are studying. Yesterday we had a fantastic session. The student was focused and had a positive attitude. We looked over all of the vocabulary: colors, bedroom and other. We worked on comparisons and superlatives. Today, the student and I completed lesson 15. We began with our usual warm-up questions, which include some consistent questions and a few new questions each time. The warm-up questions have really helped to solidify certain vocabulary terms for the student. Additionally, we have started introducing years into our conversation, which we will continue to practice. We then moved on to a short translation exercise with the verbs we introduced during our last session. We then moved on to covering the present progressive tense in Spanish. We went over the two endings for the present participles and then reviewed questions utilizing the present progressive tense.

Today, the student and I worked on plural form of nouns and adjectives. When the word ends in a vowel, add an s. When it ends in a consonant, add es. If it ends in a z, the z changes to c and you add es. Hay = there is, or there are. It can be used both in the singular and the plural. Demonstrative adjectives also agree in number and gender. Use este, esta, estos, estas for this and these. Use ese, sea, esos, esas for that or those. Keep working on the exercises from the book and come up with at least three sentences using the new vocabulary. Remember the irregular "yo" forms for hacer, tener and decir. The two last ones are also stem changing verbs.
