Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student one: went over reading assignment "El primer trabajo de Roberto" (Roberto's First Job). Read mini-novel and answered first section of the questionnaire. Use as study guide for quiz over first three chapters on Wednesday. Student two: went over vocabulary terms chapter 3. Learned the conjugations of the irregular verb "ir" (to go) and use it with the contraction "al" (a+el) and vocabulary terms for this chapter: museo, cine, restaurante, cafe, etc."
"Today, the student needed help studying for a vocabulary quiz on words regarding nature and animals. So we made flashcards for all the words she needed to study and went through them one by one. She had the most trouble on the word for "bird" (el pajaro), but with repeated practice and writing, she was able to recall it correctly. As long as she makes a habit of going through all the words, paying extra attention to the ones she struggles more with remembering, she will do just fine! We also went over the future tense conjugations (arguably the easiest tense in all the Spanish language), both the regular and irregular ones."
"The student completed her Spanish homework, then we moved on to a lesson in saber vs conocer. She did very well, conjugating both verbs in future and past tenses. Then we worked on article and adjective agreement with nouns, as well as extra practice in preterite vs imperfect, and respective conjugations. I was very impressed with her improvement!"
"This was the first class with the student and she has a lot of potential regarding her pronunciation and understanding of grammar rules. We went over some vocabulary, and I helped her identify whether the words were male/female."
"Today was my last session with the student, so I made a point to review parts of the body, colors, describing people, and songs we have learned. All around, she has been a great student and I hope that she can be placed with someone who can work with her in the long term."
"We covered the future proche and the pass recent. I helped her better understand how to properly answer questions in complete sentences in French, as well as left her with a small amount homework for next session"
