Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"[COVERED]: We covered a passage on the effects of the new of the French Revolution on the medieval-looking Portugal. This required a minor history lesson for the student who is a Japanese national. We discussed the necessary background information so that he could make some sense of the passage with the (assumed) cultural and historical context. We discussed European history in brief, the religious and political divisions, and the themes therein. We discussed the Enlightenment and the major Greco-Roman and Biblical allusions in literature that inform the meaning of verbal passages. [EXTRA PRACTICE]: The student has been watching world history videos, which I encouraged. He will also review a PDF of the allusions we discussed briefly in the session."
"Today we reviewed the student's first practice test, which he did great on! I'm looking forward to him doing more of these."
"Today we briefly reviewed the material the student has covered in her other courses that she is taking in preparation for the LSAT, and then moved on to logic games where we covered three games. The first two games we both went through together and went step by step in how to solve each individually. During this time I emphasized the importance of making use of knowledge gained from completing previous questions in helping to answer questions later on."
