"We began by discussing the process of solution and the basis of insolubility as attraction. We then moved on to covering a difficult verbal passage on sociology. That sparked a discussion of how to prepare for such passages. We discussed where to find outside reading material that adequately represents the content and difficulty found in MCAT passages. The student surprised me with his retention of major themes in Western history and his ability to use context at the sentence and passage levels to infer the meaning of challenging vocab. I assigned him reading from the local newspaper's arts section and methods of how to use internet search engines successfully."
"Went over inference questions, retrieval questions, and several passages. She seemed to be struggling the most with inference questions. Did very well on evaluation questions. She took a practice verbal section from the old exam, and scored the equivalent of a 10."
"I covered ratios, percents, proportions, and number properties. I also covered concepts in sentence correction and critical reasoning. I recommended that he take a quiz on some of the math concepts that we covered together. Overall, the student has the ability to earn a desirable score on the GMAT."
