"In this session, the student and I covered a couple different topics. We first reviewed how to solve triangles, which we covered last week, and we also worked with inverses and logarithmic properties. She is beginning to prepare for her final so many of the questions she had were from random sections and chapters she had covered this year."
"Tonight, we finished his semester review by looking back over the more recent combinatorics, probability, sequences, and series material. He showed a promising recall of most of this material. After we finished, I prepared an abridged formula sheet for him to look back over before his test tomorrow."
"We began preparation for the student's Pre-Calculus final examination. We primarily focused on approximate variation equations. We spent a large amount of time understanding why variables were either direct or indirectly varying components of the equation. We also began working on simplifying rational equations."
"During my session with the student, we went over his review sheet for his physics final. He is very eager to learn, and wants to do well. Some of the problems we worked on we had already solved, however, we wanted to make sure he knew them well. Overall, I think he is going to do well on his test."
"Today we reviewed mostly conics, both how to determine the equation of the function from given information, and how to graph from an equation. We did some work with rational functions, trig, logs and exponential equations. She has a good grasp on what's happening in everything we do, the only mistakes are small arithmetic ones. We highlighted a few pitfalls and she is ready to go."
"Went over the quadratic formula. Did graphing of parabolas from quadratic equations. Then moved on to simplifying rational expressions. Did examples of each. Student did pretty well."
"We reviewed some homework problems on conic sections first; the topic of horizontal parabolas posed something new. Afterwards, we started talking about vectors and vector operations. Concepts such as vector addition/subtraction, scalar multiplication, unit/zero vectors, dot products, angles between vectors, and projections of vectors were covered, with both an emphasis on the mathematics and geometry behind these processes. The student has access to additional problems in her textbook over vectors."
"I tutored the student. We went through pre-calculus limits. I went through the definitions of limits, continuity, and discontinuity with him. We spent most of the time going through different problems together."
"We covered the rest of the material for her final tomorrow: sequences and series, binomial expansions, De Moivre's theorem, writing polynomial equations based on a few given points, and writing parametric equations of line segments. We went over formulas to include on her notecard."
"Our session started with the student's question about long division of polynomials, and we moved into synthetic division, series, functions and graphing of polynomial functions. The student has a lot of topics to review for next time."
"Today I gave her an introduction to conics. We went over hyperbolas, parabolas, ellipses, and circles and how to identify them from general form. We always went over the different characteristics and how to graph them from standard form."
"The student only wanted review over how to solve certain triangle application problems and how to tell which side is sin or cosine of a triangle. The student had other questions about solving trig related application questions. She has made a lot of progress, her grades improved from low Cs to high Bs."
