Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had a worksheet to complete for her math class. The assignment covered adding fractions with unlike denominators, then writing the answer as a mixed number. She solved almost all the problems without difficulty."
"Worked with the student to complete week's assignment for his online college statistics course. Topics focused on calculating equations for least-squares regression lines and finding correlation coefficients of data sets. Next week he has a paper due, which he will begin writing and I will review with him before submitting next week."
"The student was very organized and prepared when I arrived for this session. We covered solving equations with 2 variables by substituting and eliminating. We need to review 3rd degree solutions again in our next session. We completed 2 days of homework as well."
"During our session, the student completed an assignment through her course's online tool that her teacher assigned for points. Through this process, she completed several problems covering simplifying radical expressions and equations involving radicals (cubic and squares). She did well during our session. We will meet again next week."
"The student and I continued to work on exponents and logarithms throughout the session. He knows everything he needs to know in this subject, he just needs to gain confidence in his ability to tackle each problem. We too often find ourselves giving up before even making an honest effort for each problem. We will work to improve his zeal to solve problems, especially the challenging ones."
"In this session, we focused on integrals involving natural log functions and inverse functions. I taught her to always use polynomial division when the numerator is a higher degree than the denominator. She was able to do most of the integrals herself. We then moved on to inverse functions, and we discussed the concept of determining if a function is monotonic by using the derivative."
