Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we worked on finding the center of mass and the linear expansion of metals, stress, strain and shear, Young's modulus, and the bulk modulus. On Friday, I am planning to go over pressure, the ideal gas law, PV diagrams, and engines."
"Today's session was to review how to analyze circles, ellipse, parabolas, and hyperbola equations. The student was confident to solve these problems. He analyzed different equations and was able to determine what kind of equation it was, the coordinates of the center, and the long and short axis. He has some problems to solve as homework."
"Tonight the student and I worked on physics problems involving magnetism and AC circuits. She consistently demonstrated through understanding of the problems and was able to solve them with minimal assistance. We encountered some difficulty with phasor problems, but I provided her with an outside resource to clarify the concept."
"We are continuing to review practice problems for the student's test. He is definitely getting the hang of solving mechanics problems and noticing where to use which strategies. I think he will be very prepared in time for his test."
"We began multiplying binomials and trinomials and dividing polynomials. We briefly introduced factoring, covering how it is the opposite of the multiplication process. The student did amazing! She picked it up extremely quickly."
"We began the session by outlining the student's past physics class and her goals for our tutoring time. We then worked on distance, displacement, speed, velocity, and acceleration. We covered what each term means, the units, and some formulas. We finished the time by practicing some example problems."
