What are the benefits of working with a Los Angeles German tutor near me?

When you enroll in private instruction, you can feel confident that you are meeting with a teacher who is qualified and professional. Before instructors can begin teaching, they are required to pass through a strict vetting process that looks critically at their qualifications, German fluency, and background. This ensures that, when you use our services to find an instructor, you or your student connects with one of the best German mentors available in your area. Instructors are required to meet high standards so that we can connect students to quality tutoring services.

Your instructor can serve as an academic mentor, providing guidance as well as information that can help you in your German studies. Since you are the only student in a meeting with your teacher, you can receive personal attention in Los Angeles German tutoring that your teachers in a traditional classroom may not be able to provide.

Tutoring is also more customizable than a standard class at a school like UCLA or another local school. Your instructor can create custom activities and lessons designed with your needs in mind. For example, if you are studying German to feel more prepared for a German 101 class, your instructor can adjust their lessons to be centered around homework help and material that may appear on tests. You can bring your class materials to your private instructor to receive supplemental support.

If I begin Los Angeles German tutoring, what are my options for scheduling a meeting?

Depending on what works best for you or your student's schedule, various options are available for scheduling a meeting. Private German instructors can meet with students either online or in-person. No matter which option you select, your instructor can teach engaging, helpful German lessons in your preferred format.

Online meetings are held on the Live Learning Platform. This platform acts as a virtual classroom where you connect with your instructor to complete activities, lessons, and interactive practice problems. The Live Learning Platform contains a variety of features that can make learning more interesting. For example, Los Angeles German tutors teacher can use the virtual whiteboard to visualize important concepts and help you take more organized notes. They can also teach a lesson using video chat so that you can see and hear them, asking questions as concerns arise and receiving direct feedback on your German performance. Additional features on the Live Learning Platform include session recording and a shared document editor.

If online instruction does not work for your student, you also have the option to schedule an in-person meeting. Your student can meet with their Los Angeles German tutor at a local library such as the Central Library, or you can arrange a session with your instructor on campus at a school like the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Whether you opt for in-person or online instruction, you will collaborate with a teacher who is qualified to answer your questions and alleviate your concerns as a German learner.

To continue your German studies in a different format, consider enrolling in an online German class. Like private lessons, classes are taught by a German expert who is excited to answer your questions and help you learn. Classes also connect you to a network of other learners who are studying German alongside you. Learn from your instructor as well as your peers when you enroll in an online German class.

German Tutoring review by Tom in Los Angeles, CA
The student and I organized a writing strategy for his essay. We went so far as to draft an outline together for the paper. The student's teacher is requiring him to include quotations, so we also reviewed how to incorporate and cite quotations in an MLA style paper.

German Tutoring review by Elizabeth in Los Angeles, CA
The student has a test on Tuesday, so we spent time reviewing the material that will be on the test. We reviewed adding and subtracting matrices, multiplying matrices, finding the determinant, and using Cramer's rule to solve two or more variable systems. She understands the concepts and is making fewer errors as she gets used to always using the calculator. We both left the session feeling like she will do well on her test.

German Tutoring review by Ben in Los Angeles, CA
We covered the problems that I had assigned as homework to practice for the math portion of her SAT this weekend. All of the problems were linked to tricks that SAT math questions usually have so as to prepare the student to pay attention and formulate an answer. We discussed a few techniques in the actual taking of the test. Afterwards we covered a few problems from the review that her teacher gave her for their test next Monday. I feel that she will be very well prepared for that test as long as she does her flashcard identity memorization exercises as homework.

German Tutoring review by Alexandra in Los Angeles, CA
The student and I began by talking about timing and her need to remain calm and develop a steady pace.  We went over some strategies for speeding up and what her overall goals should be for reading a passage (under 4 minutes) and answering the questions (6 minutes).  We completed four passages during our review.  Passage 1 was completed in 17:39 and she scored 1/7.  Passage 2 she completed in 16:02 and she scored 4/7.    Passage 3 she completed in 10:13 and she scored 3/5.    Passage 4 she completed in 16:11 and she scored 4/6.  Realistically, she needs to aim for 10 minutes a passage, with occasionally allowing 11 minutes since our overall strategy includes "skipping" the seventh passage so she can focus on six.      At the end of the session we went over three main goals: 1.  Read in four minutes.  2.  Ask herself what are the main ideas of the passage before starting the questions.  3.  Completing the questions in 6 minutes.

German Tutoring review by Samantha in Los Angeles, CA
I helped the student edit her citations. We wrote brief notes on the slides for her presentation and edited the formatting of the presentation. We spoke on the phone for 20 minutes after I sent her the edits and went over the slides and the order of the presentation and made plans for our meeting tomorrow.
