Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I was especially pleased with the student's listening skills, ability to follow instructions and stay on task when we had an "emergency" homework session for metric conversions. She did fantastic!! She also was able to demonstrate yesterday's objectives this afternoon. Way to go! Today we reviewed rational and irrational numbers plus exponent rules per her teacher's request. :)"
"I was informed that he got an 88% on his quiz. We took a few minutes to go over what he missed. For one problem, there was an actual concept gap, so we practiced similar problems to that. He and I talked about his test taking skills and if anything could have been improved. Then, we began on simplifying equations and solving for different variables."
"I was so excited to hear that you passed your test! Good job! Today, we started a new packet that related to polynomials and functions that are larger than quadratics (meaning their highest exponent has a degree of 3 or more). We practiced a lot of new vocabulary, and I was very impressed with how quickly you picked up applying your old skills to these new problems. Nicely done!! Keep working on the packet, and I'll see you Monday."
"I was so proud of this student today. Before her tutoring started, she got a 45 on her first test. The day after our first tutoring session, she got 102 on her second math test! We covered variables today during the tutoring session. She caught on well. I am very proud of her."
"I was very happy to learn that the student is doing very well in her algebra class. Today we worked on homework that her teacher had assigned because most of the students had not understood it for their previous math test. Luckily she had a pretty good understanding of these problems and how to solve them. So we decided to look ahead in her math and start working on the New Concept consecutive integers and the ideas of division with fractions and the reciprocals of different numbers."
"I went over the new material the student learned in class- transformations/reflections. I also did a review of previous material since she didn't have homework. I can tell she is improving and remembering the material we have covered in the past."
