Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued with 2B, which covers prepositions of location and items in a classroom. We also reviewed material from last time and covered how to make nouns and articles plural."
"We reviewed plurals of nouns, indefinite and definite articles, and adjectives by going over her homework from yesterday. We also reviewed the conjugation of regular -ar verbs and increased her vocabulary by learning 12 new verbs and doing a translation worksheet that practiced the new verbs and other recent vocabulary."
"We reviewed the forms and uses of the 2 verbs Ser / Estar with practice exercises and pictures of famous people. He had to describe either their personality or how they're feeling. We also reviewed adjective agreement and he's improving with making sure to make the adjective feminine or plural depending on the subject. We also went over some vocabulary, professions and other uses for the verb ser (possession). I left the student some extra practice with verb forms and paragraphs where he has to decide which verb to use and conjugate it."
"On our last session the student and I went over some vocabulary flash cards with Spanish words. We went over the meaning of each word and their pronunciation. The student is already familiar with some of these words so it was a review for her. Furthermore, with the words that she already Knows, I ask her to tell me a sentence using those words. She was successfully able to form complete sentences in Spanish using different words. Finally, we finished our reading in Spanish and while reading she was able to identify many of the vocabulary words that we studied previously."
"The student took a Math Diagnostic test so we could pinpoint areas for review. It was one of the stronger scores she earned in the Spring. We reviewed the results and worked through the questions she missed. We plan on focusing on Geometry and Trig in the upcoming sections."
"The student and I read La noche boca arriba and discussed the themes and surprises of this short story. Her comprehension was excellent and she had clearly read the story more than once and looked up unfamiliar vocabulary. Next we will read a short story from El conde Lucanor."
