Geometry Tutoring review by Melissa in Georgetown, TX
The student has a test tomorrow in geometry that she wanted to review for. She had a quiz, so we started there to go over the things that she got incorrect. We then went through all her notes and problems that were assigned in class. The topics that we covered included finding interior and exterior angles of polygons and how to classify polygons (parallelograms, rectangles, rhombi, squares). We also went over how to classify a polygon given coordinate points. I felt that the student had a pretty good grasp of all the information.

The student and I reviewed geometry topics for his quiz tomorrow. I first had him practice proofs specifically covering parallel lines cut by a transversal line. The student has a strong grasp of all geometry concepts. If he is stumped however, he often looks to me for immediate guidance. I encouraged him to think it through and consider all concepts he's learned. Yesterday he showed great progress and I didn't have to directly help him think of the answer to any proofs. We also reviewed other algebra-based geometry problems that will be covered on the quiz. I am confident he can do well.

Geometry Tutoring review by Austin in Georgetown, TX
The student had not been at school for a few days, but her teacher posted some content online to begin preparing for the final. We worked through the first and second chapter of the review which covered a wide array of material. This included area, perimeter, midpoints, distance, some basic angle facts, and some basic logic. A good start to succeeding on the final.

Geometry Tutoring review by Arianna in Georgetown, TX
Yesterday's session was spent reviewing for today's test. The test covered all of chapter 5 except for one section. The student and I went through every relevant section thoroughly. We discussed the theorems and how to apply them. Together, we went through many practice problems and she did well on them. By the end of the session, she was picking up on patterns more quickly and was able to determine when to apply each theorem. There was a large amount of vocab to learn for this unit and I stressed that she needed to study. A lot of the new terms are very similar and can be difficult to distinguish from one another if they are not studied for a sufficient amount of time. The student did well on the practice problems I assigned her.

Got ahead of teacher by completing review lessons in book. Covered formulas for calculating angles of multi-angled shapes and exterior angles. Also practiced using distance and slope formulas to prove parallelograms.

The student and I completed problems in preparation for her upcoming assessment on solving quadratic equations (factoring, the Xbox method, the quadratic formula, square rooting). To complete the session, she wrote down how to solve each problem step-by-step.
