I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate of Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, and I received my Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and Spanish from St. Olaf College. As a physical therapist, I love being able to use my knowledge of the human body every day while working one-on-one with patients as they continue their healing process. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Anatomy & Physiology. In my experience helping students prepare for tests or projects, I enjoy sharing analogies or examples that help solidify concepts and having an individualized approach to help students grasp material in a way that works for them. My goal is to try to impart an appreciation of knowledge and a love of learning to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling to Europe and Central America, delving deeper into the Spanish language, sports (especially soccer and hockey), and playing piano.

I have been a Dental Hygienist for 30 years and am well versed in the field. Part of that time was spent teaching students clinical skills at a university. I am also a Functional Nutritional Therapist using nutrition and real food to heal the body so people can feel good again. I finished my PhD at Arizona State last year, and moved to Minneapolis to co-found a biomedical engineering startup. Before Arizona, I received a BS in electrical engineering at the University of Virginia.Over the past five years I've taught quite a few lab courses, mostly in electronics for biomedical students. I enjoy helping to guide students to a better understanding, so they can explain a concept in their own words (not just in my words). I like to draw out visual explanations whenever possible, for math and science concepts. I've been excited about all kinds of science for pretty much all my life, and I hope I can convey some of this excitement!Outside of academia, I'm into climbing and good board games.

I'm a mechanical engineering student at the University of Minnesota. I'm passionate about math and science, but I'm also interested in history and literature. In the course of my studies, I've often sought help from tutors, so I know what it's like to approach a tutor needing help. My interests include learning, reading, TV and movies, and browsing the internet.I tutor primarily in math, physics, and test prep, but can also help with history. My tutoring focuses on teaching by demonstration, and then using practice problems to reinforce learning and instill confidence in the student.

I teach composition, American literature, and technical writing courses, primarily to first- and second-year college students.I have taught ESL/ELL courses to adults at the Pre-GED level, and the courses included work on conversation, vocabulary work, and workplace writing.I also have considerable experience doing freelance writing (journalism, marketing, and so on).

I have been in the field of echocardiography for 23 years working for a variety of health systems and with a diverse population of patients. I received my Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science; Cardiac Rehab from Winona State University. I went onto more training in echocardiography and attended the Mayo School of Health Related Sciences in Rochester, MN. I am registered with ARDMS in Adult and Pediatric echocardiography. I was the preceptor for new students at my previous place of employment. Currently I am in industry employed as a Clinical Specialist in 4D Intracardiac Echocardiography. I am passionate about seeing people learn and grow professionally and personally. In addition to teaching echo I have had three years of experience training people form a large range of backgrounds how to serve in the missions field in foreign countries. Finally, I was an anatomy and physiology tutor in college. I am passionate about helping people learn.

Since June 2015, I have been working at Mathnasium, a learning center that provides instruction in math to students from pre-kindergarten through high school. During my time as an instructor, I helped resolve problems that students may have had trouble understanding, as well as pushing students to their limits. I want to make sure that all students can not only know the rules of math but can integrate what they have learned into their daily life.
