Certified Tutor

I'm a tutor specializing in English-related subjects and Japanese language and culture! Having spent almost 10 years working with students of all ages, I have a huge passion for tutoring students in the subjects that they're passionate about.

I have a BA in East Asian Students Japanese Specifically from Smith College, and spent a year abroad in Japan. While I was in Japan, I tutored many students of all ages in English, helping them learn to better communicate in a new language. Working hard with struggling students is always a wonderful experience, and it's been so rewarding for both the student and myself.

Since graduating, I have been studying Japanese some more and working on translating some of my favorite media into English. While attending Smith College I also took classes in a variety of subjects, ranging from Oceanography to Screenwriting, and I've been working on some creative writing of my own since graduating.

As a tutor, my favorite subjects to teach are always languages! I always feel that we're learning together when studying a language, as there's always more to learn!

Outside of education, I'm a hobbyist writer. I love to read, write, and translate some of my favorite media from Japanese to English and vice versa. It's really good practice! Recently I've been working on translating the first volume of Wind Breaker into English, and I've been working on and off on some songs as well!
