Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of William Paterson University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. I am also a graduate of Towson University where I received my Master's in Teaching. I have been a high school English teacher for twenty-four years. I taught in two public schools in Maryland for eight years and one private school in Pennsylvania for sixteen years. I have taught all four grades in high school in a variety of classes. One of my passions is grammar and writing. I am very skilled in the areas of essay preparation and writing, in particular, the research paper. I thoroughly enjoy proofreading all types of written work and providing valuable feedback for the writer to improve his/her writing. I am a firm believer that great writing takes multiple drafts, and I enjoy the writing journey. In addition to assisting with essay preparation and implementation, I have an extensive background in guiding students in how to succeed on standardized tests. I can provide tutoring on the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my two teenage boys, playing ping pong, video games, and putting together Lego sets. My Great Dane Asher gets me out of the house for his daily walks.
