I hold a Bachelor's degree in History from Kent State University, where I honed my skills in reading, writing, and critical analysis. With over two years of tutoring and classroom experience, I specialize in writing and reading comprehension, focusing on middle and high school students. My teaching philosophy centers on patience and understanding; I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable seeking help. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts, tailoring my approach to meet individual learning needs. My experience at a Title 1 school has deepened my commitment to helping students overcome challenges, and I take pride in seeing their progress, especially in preparing for high-stakes assessments like the STAAR test. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring literature and writing, which continually enriches my teaching practice.
