As a dedicated math educator with over seven years of classroom experience teaching students in grades 4 through 8, I've developed a deep understanding of how students learn and where they often struggle. Math can be intimidating for many learners, but I've seen how the right support and strategies can completely change a student's outlook and I'm passionate about being part of that transformation.
My approach to tutoring is rooted in making math accessible, engaging, and meaningful. I use a variety of instructional methods tailored to individual learning styles, including visual representations, hands-on activities, strategic questioning and the use of technology for audio representation/virtual manipulatives. These tools help students see, touch, and hear math in ways that make abstract concepts concrete. Whether we're exploring fractions, equations, or geometry, I aim to present material in a way that reaches all learners.
Tutoring gives me the opportunity to provide focused, one-on-one instruction that builds not just academic skills, but confidence. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and actively participating in their own growth. I believe in guiding students to find their own problem-solving strategies while reinforcing foundational skills they can build on.
Ultimately, my goal is to help students not only improve their math performance but also develop a more positive and empowered relationship with learning. I look forward to continuing to support students through tutoring, using proven strategies and a student-centered approach that adapts to thier individual needs.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy a balanced lifestyle that keeps me active, engaged, and connected. Exercising and playing basketball are a big part of my routine, they help me stay energized and focused, and I often draw connections between sports and math when working with students. I also have a strong love for reading across a variety of genres, which allows me to continously learn and explore different perspectives. In my downtime I enjoy watching TV as a way to relax, and I value quality time spent with family and friends, whether its a simple get-together or a shared activity. Vacationing is another important part of my life it gives me a chance to recharge, experience new places, and bring fresh energy and inspiration back into my teaching. These interests help me maintain a well rounded lifestyle and often provide real-world examples and relateable moments that I bring into the classroom to connect with students.
