Hi there! My name is Dr. Shawn Selby, and I'm thrilled to tutor students in history. I got my PhD in American Social and Intellectual History from Ohio University, and have taught US and world history at the university level for over 15 years, whether online or in-person. In addition, I've scored the AP US History exam for the last 10 years. I love history, and I love the opportunity to help others love history as much as I do. I appreciate the opportunity to help students see the connections between the past and the present, and to better understand the world we live in by seeing how we got here.
I'll do my very best to help introduce historical concepts and information in a way that is engaging and accessible. And I'm happy to help offer thoughts about test-taking strategies, test prep, study skills, etc. Ultimately, I'm not successful until my students understand the concepts and facts, and can put them together effectively and accurately.
