Helping students discover their own potential is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching, and it's what fuels my passion for tutoring. I love seeing a child's face light up with confidence when a concept finally clicksthat moment of breakthrough is what I strive for with every student I work with.
With over 15 years of experience in teaching elementary education, including 4 years in special education, I've had the privilege of supporting a wide range of learners. My background has taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and meeting each child where they are academically and emotionally. I believe that when students feel seen, supported, and safe to take risks, real growth can happen.
I have taught core elementary subjects with a particular fondness for reading and math. These foundational skills shape so much of a student's academic journey, and I love finding creative ways to make them engaging and accessible. Whether it's breaking down a tricky math problem or exploring the meaning behind a story.
My teaching philosophy centers around building trust and confidence. I approach tutoring with an encouraging style that combines structure with flexibility. I prepare thoughtfully for each session but remain responsive to where the student is that day. I believe in celebrating progress, however small, and in making learning a positive experience.

Outside of tutoring, I stay active and enjoy spending time outdoors, and with family and friends. My husband and I go to Friday dinners with my inlaws and sister. We also spend time with my aging parents and help them when they need it. I like to relax watching a movie or researching natural ways to care for people or dogs health.
