Adam: Marquette County tutor
Certified Tutor
I am current student at the University of Kansas, pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. I have worked as an academic peer tutor on campus at KU and have experience helping struggling math and physics students meet their academic goals. I am also in the STEM Teach program at the University, a program that allows STEM majors such as myself to pursue a teaching license. As a part of that program, I have designed science and math lesson plans and put them into practice, teaching my lessons in local elementary and middle schools.
I tutor a variety of subjects, including physics, engineering classes, and many instances of mathematics, although I am most passionate about tutoring physics, as I enjoy being able to apply what we learn and see the real-world implications in our daily life. I believe that learning isn't just the accumulation of knowledge, but the rewiring of the way we think and solve problems.
I do my best to lead students to make their own connections regarding what they are learning, developing their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities along the way.
