I have nine years experience as a teacher of English literature, writing and composition, and film and media studies. I've worked as a tutor in both a college and high school Writing Center. I have an M.A. in English from the Catholic University of America, and a PhD in English from the University of Florida. I'm passionate about working one-on-one with students to help them craft persuasive arguments about literature and other media.

My goal as a tutor is to meet students where they are by addressing those areas in which they ask for help, and by staying alert to those needs they have that they can't articulate. Some possible topics of exploration include how to construct an argument including a thesis, body paragraphs, and conclusion and literary comprehension i.e., what is Shakespeare up to in "Hamlet," anyway?
