I have an English BA from Rhode Island College and am currently working towards receiving my Teaching Certificate from Providence College. I have been working as a High School teacher for about 2 years now. I teach ELD, also known as ESL, so I've worked with students whose first language is not English.
My students come to me with so many different backgrounds and experiences; some who know and understand little to no English, some who are fluent in English but struggle with certain reading and writing skills. I have students who were born in raised in the area, some who have been here for only a few short years, and some who just came to the US from another country. With all this, I believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn and grow, and I believe everyone is smart and skilled in their own way.
There are different ways to learn, and one way won't fit every student. I do my best to try and work with each student and what they need to help them learn what they need to and grow socially and academically.

I love animals and have 2 cats. If we are on video, there is a chance you might see them in the background from time to time! I grew up with a dad and a brother who played video games, and I joined in, so I am a big gamer. I've played lots of games on different consoles and on PC. I mostly play RPGs, but I've played a spectrum of different genres. I am very passionate and play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons regularly. It allows me to use my creative writing skills and my acting skills, as well as spend time with friends and meet new people. I also grew up watching anime with my brother. I still keep up with current anime pretty regularly, and I'll also read some manga and manhwa from time to time. I love the fiction genre, especially fantasy fiction, including books, movies, and TV shows.
