Hello! My name is Maddie, and I am super excited to be working for Varsity Tutors! I went to the University of Maryland (go Terps!) to study Education and History, but I grew up in Northern California for most of my life. I am now a 7th-grade US History teacher based in Virginia, but I have been tutoring for almost ten years in a variety of subjects. I love working with students of all ages, but have the most experience with students in 6th to 12th grade. I love History because I love how it is like learning a story of the past, and there is always a new detail to learn that makes it more interesting. However, I also love subjects that help me learn about the world around us, like psychology and sociology! I look forward to meeting you and telling you more!

I have always loved sports! Growing up, I played every sport under the sun. Lacrosse, soccer, tennis, swimming, cross country, you name it! My favorite sports have always been team sports, but nowadays I enjoy running! I ran my first 10k this past February :) I also love spending time with friends, painting, and baking!
