Certified Tutor

I received my Master's Degree in Literacy (birth - grade 6) from Long Island University, and my
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from the State University of New York at Geneseo. I am certified in Elementary Education (pre-K through 6th grade), Special Education (pre-K through 12th grade), and Literacy (birth through 6th grade). I have taught in various classroom settings, spanning 13 years, with the bulk of my experience being at the middle school level. I also spent several years teaching English to students in China, using an online platform. My favorite subjects to teach are math and reading, because I love helping students to have those "lightbulb moments" when they gain a true understanding of the content we are working on, and their confidence blossoms. I truly believe that students learn best when they are provided with a fun, comfortable learning environment, that draws upon different learning styles and strengths.
