Certified Tutor

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lee University and my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. I have many years of experience teaching elementary-aged students, as well as training and mentoring K-12 teachers within my school district. While teaching in the regular education classroom, I developed a strong passion for supporting English learners, which led me to return to school and earn my ESL certification. After working directly with K-5th grade English learners, I had the rewarding opportunity to train and mentor K-12 teachers of English learners. Although I found this role fulfilling, I missed working directly with children. I am especially passionate about accelerating academic vocabulary and content learning for all students, particularly English learners and students with special needs. I strive to make learning exciting and to spark my students' curiosity and passion for becoming life-long learners.
