I currently hold a B.S in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Tech as well as a PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh. During both my degrees, I gained experience tutoring college level students in any and all general science courses, including biology, microbiology, chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, genetics, microbial genetics, and human genetics. My favorite subject to tutor is biochemistry or anything genetics related. Both subjects often present as little puzzles with tons of interacting pieces and I have grown to enjoy solving those kinds of puzzles. Being able to tutor a subject has been rewarding; I spent a lot of time as a student and know that sometimes courses can be tough or the instructor may not teach in a conducive style for all their students. Tutoring offers me an opportunity to help students understand topics on their own terms.

Outside of education, I am a passionate reader of anything fantasy/sci-fi, I enjoy working out in some form each day (mostly free weight lifting but sometimes running or yoga), and I love to explore the food and art scenes in my immediate area.
