Certified Tutor
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Arizona. I received my B.A. (Hons.) in Economics at the University of Manitoba and a M.A. in Economics at the University of Victoria. Throughout my eleven years of postsecondary education, I have worked extensively as a teaching assistant, course instructor, and tutor in various subfields of economics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic history, economics for managers, law and economics, public sector economics, econometrics (statistics), and mathematical economics (calculus). As a TA, I regularly tutor students one-on-one to help them succeed, tailoring the course material to fit their individual learning style best. I believe that every student can be successful, and that my job as a tutor is to understand how each student learns best and use that knowledge to guide their understanding of the course material. A common misconception about economics is that it's all about money, but economics is about so much more than finance. I believe that learning economics provides people with a new way of understanding human decision-making, and I am excited to help students expand their knowledge so that they can be successful, not just in their courses but also in their lives.
