Certified Tutor

I come to Varsity Tutors with 15 years of teaching experience in special education, general education, and English as a Second Language. I have multiple teaching certifications including Elementary Education, Special Education (Moderate), English as a Second Language, and Sheltered English Immersion (endorsement).

In addition to my bachelors and masters degree listed above, I attended a special education program for students with moderate disabilities through Northeastern University and an Urban Leadership Program through Cambridge College's Center for Advanced Graduate Studies. I have put into application a variety of programs focused on targeting the needs of a variety of students. This includes TERC Investigations Mathematics, Lucy Calkins Writing Curriculum, Reading Street Literacy Program, Foss Science Curriculum, Fountas and Pinnell, Woodcock Johnson III Test of Academic Achievement, Orton-Gillingham - Phonics First, Sonday Phonics - Reading Intervention, Wilson - Reading Intervention, Reading First - Reading Intervention, and Knowing Math Intervention Program. I am also a certified trainer for the Massachusetts English Language Assessment (Oral) -- MELA-O.
