Jean Pierre
Certified Tutor
Anything is possible in life as long you put your mind to it. Success never comes easy and the harder it looks, the greater the fulfillment will be.
I graduated from Mountain View College in Dallas- Texas with an Associates of Art and I have a TESOL/TEFL certification in English teaching from Global Leadership College. I am a native French speaker but along with my master in the French language, I also speak English, Spanish and Mina( a dialect of a West African country called TOGO). If you want to learn how to be fluent in French and in English, look no further.
I love sharing my knowledge with people because knowledge is power and ignorance is death. I love learning in a fun environment so I like making everything I teach fun. See you in class .

What is your teaching philosophy?
I can learn anything as long as I put my mind to it. Brilliance requires work, and work requires determination. Let's be determined and change the world.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Get to know the student and his or her goal to better teach.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By helping the student understand the importance of him acquiring knowledge in life.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
By helping him keep in mind the focus, which is the end goal.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Try another way and have them like what they are doing.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
By incorporating what they like doing.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Creating a scene when you have the student engage in it and pretend it is reality.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Have them learn it by planting it in their world.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Have them brief me at the end of the session on what we learned.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
By explaining to them that it does not matter how low you start, but it matters how much effort you are willing to put into it to make it happen.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
By evaluating their goal in taking the lessons.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
By knowing their concerns and revolving it around their needs.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
A book, a board, a table, pen, pencil, chair, etc.
