The student had a substitute teacher in his Math class the last couple days so we had to learn the content of the chapter prior to starting the homework. I am working to reinvigorate his zeal for math. He chugged steadily though his work and stayed consistent throughout the studies. We will continue to improve.

Tutoring review by Lalitha in Tulsa County, OK
The student has a milestone test coming up next week that he needs to review for, so he and I started working on his extra credit practice test. We got through almost a third of it, and he will have to do the rest before I see him again. He also completed his retake exam. He did well during our session--he understands concepts quickly and is good with mental math. All he needs is more practice and to remember certain rules and formulas.

Tutoring review by Sam in Tulsa County, OK
The student and I began by reviewing the equations for the area and circumference of circles. He knew both without any help. Next, we went over slope, mid point and distance. He needed to be reminded of these formulas, but seemed to quickly gain comfort after doing a few practice problems. Next, we worked on finding the equations of lines using point-slope form as well as slope-intercept form. Next, we moved into figuring out if a point is on a line or not, as well as finding the x and y intercepts of a line. Finally, we worked on figuring out if lines are parallel, perpendicular, or neither. I think with some studying he should be just fine for his final. His attitude remains positive, as always.

Tutoring review by Derek in Tulsa County, OK
During this session, we covered a review packet for the student's upcoming test on circular functions. We discussed how to find the reference angle of a given angle using the unit circle, as well as how to find the values of the basic trig functions using a table. We then used the cosine and sine functions to find the coordinates of a given angle on a unit circle. Lastly, we manipulated sine functions to fit real-life models. We learned to adjust the amplitude, period, and the vertical and horizontal shifts.
