We covered chi-square statistics. I explained Hardy-Weinberg frequencies, homozygous and heterozygous. We covered chi-square significance, p values, and significance tables. The student was not used to doing questions with Hardy-Weinberg equations or chi-square. He was open to learning and practice. We did a lot of problems with the above equations.

We covered the concepts of osmosis, more specifically hypotonic solution vs. hypertonic solution. We worked on some assignments. We also covered the circulatory system including the names of the major arteries and veins involved.

Great session! The student is really retaining the information. His biggest struggle is organizing his thoughts, but other than that he understands the concepts well and is excited about the subject. We continued his study guide by going over DNA replication, transcription, translation, and DNA recombination.

The student and I made a study plan for her final exam which is on Thursday. We also reviewed several topics from the days that she missed recently. We worked on organelles, integral membrane proteins, eukaryotes and prokaryotes. We worked mostly for the textbook and supplemented it with videos to visualize more dynamic processes.

This session was dedicated to reviewing some of the older topics we covered in previous sessions to see how well the student retained the information. He had some difficulty remembering some of the vocabulary, but understood some of the basic processes like transcription, translation, and cell respiration. I've asked him to review his study guide and watch a few videos about the brain and nervous system for next session.

We reviewed for the student's upcoming exam, focused primarily on biochemistry. This was one of the first sessions that were actually based from the materials provided by the teacher. The student understood the material very well.
