Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, the student and I covered concepts concerning the chain rule and finding the derivative of exponential functions. He then completed a quiz covering these topics, and he scored very well!"
"During this session, the student and I worked on anti-differentiation/integrals as well as graphing and other miscellaneous topics. I found that he was confident in his ability to evaluate integrals, but he struggled a bit with the definition of the limit. I suggested that he work on those types of problems before the next session because those questions are likely to be on the next test."
"For most of the session, the student and I focused today on different types of functions and some aspects of trigonometry. The former involved the study of piecewise functions, one-to-one and onto functions, and graphing of functions. The latter primarily concerned trigonometric identities, such as sum and difference formulas and half-angle formulas, along with how the law of sines and the law of cosines can be employed to determine sides and angles of triangles."
"For our first session, we went over vertical asymptotes as well as solving for horizontal ones. We also went over a little basic trigonometry. Finally, problems over limits. The student needs to review her basic Algebra (i.e. logarithms) and some basic trigonometry graphs."
"For the upcoming quiz, we solved all the relevant problems. The student has the basic skills to solve all the problems. At this point, I would suggest she familiarize herself with alternative ways of solving problems. This will deepen her understanding and provide a way to check the accuracy of the results."
"For today's session, we looked at domain and range in functions, inverse functions, composite functions, and piecewise functions. At first, I went over the key points in each of these function types, and then we worked on a take home worksheet that the student had. After working out some of the problems on the worksheet, he caught on to how the domain worked, and he was able to solve the problems well."
