Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We completed the student's study guide for chapters 22 and 23 of his textbook. He has a test coming up next Tuesday so he will be able to use this study guide to prepare. The questions covered the French revolution, the Enlightenment, and the Scientific Revolution."
"Today the student and I worked on her world history review sheet for her exam tomorrow. We first worked on taking notes on all the sections and then used an online tool to make flashcards to help her study."
"I started this session by reviewing revolutions in South and Central America. We reviewed 3 homework worksheets on that topic. We reviewed topics for his test Wednesday. They included absolute monarchy, constitutional monarchy, Louis XIV, Charles 1, Huguenots, Glorious Revolution, French Revolution, Henry, Ivan the Terrible and the Reign of Terror. The student had a very good understanding of these topics and should do well on his test."
"During today's session, the student and I continued to review geometric postulates and theorems used with triangles, and how to use them and other properties to write two-column proofs for triangles. We also reviewed finding the missing angle for various geometric figures, using the properties of parallel lines and the sum of the interior angles of a triangle property."
"Today's session continued to focus on SSAT Middle-Level test prep. The student mastered the Verbal practice at 84%. The Math practice was mastered at 96%. The Analogies practice was mastered at 90%. Any additional sessions should focus on the Reading area. Our next session will be scheduled for Friday."
"The student is obviously extremely bright, and just has to focus on strategy and time management to raise his scores. We began by reviewing his homework, which he answered mostly correctly. After that, we finished the science and reading sections. In terms of strategy, we touched on timing per passage, the ICE method for reading, and drawing direct links from the passage to the correct answer choice. For next time, he plans to finish the English, reading, and science passages of the ACT I've emailed him. Great work today!"
