We did work today doing practice problems covering vector components in the x- and y-directions. The vectors covered were components of both forces and velocities. Today we solved multiple problems related to projectile motion. Finding ranges, distances, and times using given formulas. Strategy involved first drawing a picture of the situation, annotating positive and negative directions, origin, and then realizing that motions in x and y directions are independent, only related through time. The next and last step then involved setting up equations either for the free fall or for motion with constant velocity, and solving for the unknowns. The student is quick in evaluating formulas and has come to good understanding of the underlying physics. She seems confident she can handle the problems involving projectile motion.

This was our first session. We went over his class notes and discussed ions, ionic compounds, chemical nomenclature rules, etc. We went over his lecture slides as well as additional notes that I provided to him. We will continue going over these topics as well as any new content he learns next week. He was engaged and receptive to learning during our session.

We covered monomers vs polymers and the different structures of carbohydrates in plants and animals. Like most students studying this topic, the student just needed some real life examples to understand the purpose of these structures in life. He was very motivated and energetic in the lesson. We reviewed the previous week's notes and did practice questions. I am very happy with his continued progress and how he answered the practice questions! He is very brilliant!
