Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today was our first session so we spent some time just talking about school and what's going on. What I mostly focused on is giving him a streamlined method for approaching certain problems - for example, he was working on redox reactions in chemistry and was having trouble with the assigning partial charges aspect. By giving him a step by step method to follow and showing him an example, he was able to pick it up much quicker. The same concept went to geometry; when I went over it with him and encouraged him to think it through step by step, he was able to understand the concept himself."
"Prepped for a chemistry test over net ionic reactions and acid base equilibrium that the student has tomorrow."
"We completed problems on equilibrium constant calculations. The student needed some guidance but quickly mastered the concepts."
"We covered concepts regarding electron trends on the periodic table. The student did not struggle with any concept in material. She was attentive and very receptive to the lesson. I am confident that she will perform well on her test."
"We covered concepts such as DNA, protein structure, and how ATP is used to provide energy. The student was struggling most to understand how ATP is used to provide energy for a cell, but was beginning to understand that breaking a phosphate bond is what releases energy. I used a lot of pictures to help her understand the concepts."
"We covered conversions and nomenclature. The student struggled the most to determine which conversions to use. He was positive and engaged, which made it easier to tutor him. He seemed to understand everything we went over today."
