Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"First we reviewed the vocab from the last session, then we played "Talking Cat" in Chinese on the student's tablet. During the talking, she learned the word "play the game." After that, we watched a short Chinese classic cartoon "Three Monks." During the cartoon, there were reviews of previous vocab and learning of new vocab, the new ones she learned how to say were: shower, butterfly, monk, fat and star (she also learned how to write star)."
"To start, I worked with the student on his English homework about the novel Lord of the Flies. I then gave him a new vocabulary list with emotions and other adjectives (happy, sad, etc.). I taught him how to use them and we went through a few examples. I also gave him a brief introduction to Chinese Characters."
"Student 1 has been doing a great job remembering and using his language lately so I think it would be beneficial to review some older concepts. Last Sunday we reviewed numbers, counting, and the word for car. He did a great job and was able to say and ask how many cars people had. Student 2 used this review time to practice her writing and character recognition. In the next weeks the family will be able to recognize more characters and write simple sentences."
