"-We worked on a new song based on the 5 senses. -We practiced verbs associated with each sense- ver, hablar, tocar, escuchar, oler, and the body parts - nariz, ojos, orejas, dedo/mano, boca -Completed Spanish HW assignment."
"The student and I looked at the syllabus for the class he is auditing this semester and discussed how I can best help him study for his exam along with the test. We did two paragraph-long exercises on the present tense for review, and then he practiced translating each of those paragraphs, noting any new vocabulary and putting it on a flashcard. We then moved on to the preterite tense and did a basic exercise on the preterite, after which I helped him practice pronouncing verbs conjugated in the preterite with correct syllable emphasis."
"We reviewed a lot of the past, preterite tense. First, we reviewed homework, double object pronouns, and the irregular preterite tense. Then, we practiced the regular preterite, along with spelling changes and stem changing. We practiced the difference between the present, preterite, present progressive, and hints to know which tense is required. I gave him some strategies and ways to remember how to distinguish the tenses and ways to remember the forms. He has learned a lot and should do well on the midterm."
"The student and I today worked on a number of things she had listed to prepare for her exam in August. We went over most things fairly quickly as there was a lot; however, she seemed to be picking them up quickly, and we will be sure to continue to review them and dive deeper in a future sessions."
"We discussed how his course is going, what he is starting with in class, and we went over an assignment he has due tomorrow. Then we went over the basics of grammar, both in English and Latin, and I answered questions he had from class. Then we had more reading and pronunciation practice until we finished the session."
"We continued to go over the practice exams for the student's final. She translates Latin and understands syntax really well. I still see her struggling with the perfect tense, and I recommend that she sit down and really commit the perfect tense endings to memory. Her vocabulary is in pretty good shape. I am very pleased with her progress and think that she is preparing herself very well for the final. We will continue to work on the problem points in the next session."
