Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered several problems using integrated rate laws and started discussing reaction mechanisms. The student did not have any difficulty with this topic."
"We went over his chemistry homework. We did an example for each type of problem, except the last, in which I mentioned he would be able to find it in the book."
"We reviewed concepts on waves, simple harmonic motion, and sound. We applied these concepts to homework problems from the book and discussed various scenarios and the concepts involved with them."
"During tonight's session with the student, we continued reviewing the pharmacology practice quiz. When we were done reviewing it, we started looking at random problem sets from online sources. I sent her a few questions for her to go over before our session today as well, and she was able to complete almost all the steps on her own, showing vast improvements. I will continue to send her random questions over email, and she will complete them and review them with me during our next session the following week."
"In this session, we focused on how to set up problems for acid-base reactions that use both the Henderson and ICE chart. The student is feeling more comfortable with the concept but would like to revisit this again in our next session. With a little more practice, I'm sure he will be able to do the problems with more ease, and we will move onto titrations and thermodynamics."
"In this session, we went over conservation of momentum and Bernoulli's equation. The student had a good understanding of both concepts, and we solved multiple problems from both topics. He was able to justify the assumptions he made, especially with regards to conservation of momentum. However, he had some minor issues with the assumptions/boundary conditions used in Bernoulli's equation. We have a second session scheduled within the next 24 hours, and we will work on a variety of problems involving Bernoulli's equation to improve his level of understanding and confidence."
