Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We talked a lot in Chinese today. I feel gradually I can speak English to her less and less. Of course she has lots of words and sentences she doesn't understand, but she always asks questions which is a great way to learn. After the review of last session, the new conversation theme for today was "a knock at the door," so in this conversation, she has learned: park, "where did she go?" "Is XXX home?" "what is she doing?" "open the door," playing, "like something," restaurant...etc. Also, new vocab words to write were: tiger, heart, snow, bamboo, square/doing and floor. It was a lot but I think she can handle it. Her homework is to finish the worksheet."
"We reviewed a lesson that the student's teacher had assigned and then he will take the quiz. We did 3 homework assignments together. He did very well on his own with a few assistant. He will continue on his homework assignment and we will go over them when I come next time."
"After spring break, we reviewed all numbers from 1 to 15, all color words, all animal words, all food words we have learnt including fruit words. we did a pretend birthday party while trying to practice all these words. We practiced adjectives with opposite meanings like big/small, fast/slow, hot/cold etc. We practiced basic greetings and courtesy words like how are you, I'm fine, thank you, you are welcome, long time no see etc. It was a good session."
