"An ACT assessment in math and English was conducted by assigning 30 problems to be completed in 30 minutes (math). The student displayed excellent time management during the math and showed promising potential. For the English portion passages were read and discussed along with reading strategies. Homework for reading and science was then assigned."
"The student and I met for the last time again. He took a full test and got a composite 25/26, which is about 5-6 points higher than what he got on his diagnostic test. I asked him what he felt most uncomfortable with, and he said math. So, we went over the problems he missed on that test. When we reviewed the problems, he got the right answers pretty quickly. After we tackled the math section, I wanted to work on a couple of reading passages because he scored the next lowest on that. He did quite well on the passages we worked on. I told him that if he visualizes the passage and really gets into the material, especially in the fiction passage, he will perform much more efficiently when answering the questions. At the end of our session I made a list of things he should concentrate on in preparation for the test a week from Saturday. It's been a good, studious 3 months for him, and I wish him the best for the test and whatever else may be in his future!"
"Today we reviewed the student's writing prompt that I corrected, 2 more reading passages, and a number of English passages as well."
