Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over a thesis paper and the outline. I helped the student construct the first three paragraphs based on her notes and also showed methods for looking for specific information online and using the result as a new source for citation. I think she understands the process and will do a great job with the rest of the paper."
"This was the first session with the student, so we spent some time just talking about her experience in school and what she feels like she needs the most help with. We went through some worksheets I had prepared first. The worksheets were great because they really showed me the level she is at and were informative on what areas of sentence structure and grammar we need to key in on. I left my phone number and email with her, and urged her to contact me at any time and to always feel safe to provide feedback for me on what is helpful and what she doesn't find helpful. I am really excited to be working with her. She is very bright!"
"Today we worked on the student's essay for class. He is completing a research paper on James Brown. We organized his note cards and began writing his paper. During this session I reminded him to utilize upper level vocabulary and coached him on how to word some of his sentences. The extra work to be completed before the next session is for him to gather more information pertaining to James Brown's impact on the Civil Rights Movement."
