Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student and I reviewed for her AP biology exam, which was on Thursday. The exam covered bacteria and viruses. The exam contains two essay questions, which are chosen from a pool of three possible questions given to the students ahead of time. She prepared answers to those essay questions, using the class PowerPoints as a guide. Most of the material on the exam was covered prior to winter break so she did not remember much of the material. She was going to review these essay outlines, which would also be helpful in preparing for the remainder of the exam (14 multiple choice questions). Her teacher also provided a study guide worksheet, and she said that all of the test material is found in that worksheet. We reviewed the questions that we had not covered during the essay review. I believe I answered her questions and sent her home with a good study guide. It is really important that she review our notes and the important diagrams I noted in the PowerPoint prior to the exam. She remembered most of the material on DNA, but did not remember much of the virus and bacterial material."
"Student took two quizzes on nomenclature and balancing equations and scored a 100% on both quizzes! She was able to work through problems on her own and showed great progress."
"We went over properties of logarithms in trig, and gravitational force in physics. By the end of the session, he demonstrated that he understood the work by solving the problems correctly."
