Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This week we looked towards the end of our work with radical functions, further practicing solving equations with radicals and rational exponents. We also looked at graphing radical/rational exponential functions, performing transformations on such functions, and identifying their domain and range. We can expect to apply the equation-solving skills moving forward to solving inequalities involving similar types of expressions."
"- The student is working on plotting points (x,y)...x horizontal, y vertical. - He was very comfortable with the material. - We also covered graphing points and connecting points to create figures. - He earned a 21/22 on his last unit test!"
"The student and I focused on Calculus today to prepare for his upcoming test next week. I came prepared with a summary and problems regarding area between curves and finding the volume (disk method) when rotating functions about a fixed axis. Overall, he seemed to be engaged during our session. I will be addressing cylinder method next week, revisiting some of the topics we covered today and any new ones that he might provide over the week."
"We reviewed 5th grade state math tests to check on any areas that needed practice leading up to the test."
"We reviewed how to rearrange an equation to put it in slope intercept form. Then we worked through how to solve a system of equations."
"The student worked on common factors and reducing fractions. We also worked on prime numbers and factor trees."
