Framingham, MA Trigonometry tutoring
The student completed correctly 3 out of 5 5-digit subtraction with regrouping across zeroes. He sometimes did not subtract correctly or added instead of subtracting. He completed correctly 3 out of 3 3-digit by 2-digit multiplication problems. He color-coded ones and tens and sometimes needed reminder to put the zero as a place holder. He did a great job solving addition word problems and saw a pattern of how one problem was similar to one we previously covered. We explored the concept of "more" i.e. I have 9, you have 3 more. How many do you have? On one example, he tried to use all of the numbers in a problem, when only two numbers were needed. So we will practice looking for important information. We explored comparing decimals (tenths and hundredths) using decimal squares and then transferred to place value chart to compare values. I am pleased with how quickly he is assimilating information and possibly triggering past learning.
