Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we completed Module 4 and reviewed for the Module 3 exam. After covering several topics like furniture, rooms in the house, Hispanic culture, describing surroundings, and indirect object pronouns, we did a review. We reviewed for the Module 3 Exam and I suggested that he study for the final on Wednesday. He will then take the exam in-person on Thursday."
"With the student, we were able to review a lot of vocabulary through visuals. She also learned some new phrases by reviewing Spanish comics. We reviewed verbs by themselves and in the context of sentences. She wants to review her clothing words for next time and I assigned her homework that relates to our discussion of the use of estar vs ser."
"When I talked with the younger students about the Spanish topics that they were taught at school, we were able to figure out a good place to start. Furthermore, they seem well able to tackle on new vocabulary, which is impressive for their age group. With regards to the older student, she demonstrated an incredibly impressive aptitude with learning foreign languages, which gave us all confidence that she has a solid chance of passing the Spanish level I test for her admission into one of the private high schools in the area. Overall, I was able to find a place to start with all four children while being able to establish end-of-the-summer goals. The session was great, and we will be meeting again."
"We went over homework and the student did an excellent job again. Today we studied Spanish sentence structure and adjectives. His homework for tomorrow is to make up five sentences using the list of regular -ar verbs that we have studied and any adjective. He can use the dictionary and/or internet tools to look up any adjective he may want to use."
"We went over new vocab words, conjunctions, reflexive verbs, and past tense verbs. The student is to review the new vocabulary words and look over irregular verbs for homework."
"We continued with conversational Spanish, and focused on dialogue that would typically be used ordering drinks at a restaurant and while introducing family members. We role played with scripts, and then concluded the lesson by watching two short videos covering common verb conjugations."
