Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We met from 2-3:30 pm. We worked through his geometry homework without problems, and similarly for the biology homework. The student has no issues with the content of his homework. So his parents and I decided to basically work on study skills and remembering to write things in his planner so that he can do all of the necessary work. We agreed to meet next Sunday at 2 pm. I assigned him the homework of finding what his math final will be on and completing as many of those chapter reviews as he can by next Sunday."
"The student and I first talked about similar triangles and how to prove triangles were similar and how the theorems are similar to those proving triangles congruent. Then we began working on reviewing for her midterm exam, so we started going over chapter 2 again. She particularly wanted to work on proofs, so we went through a couple basic proofs from the beginning of the semester."
"Today, we reviewed for an upcoming test and began reviewing for her final exam. She has a review packet to complete for her final. We are focus mainly on reviewing previous proofs and ensuring she has a grasp on the proof definitions."
"The student and I worked on her geometry review for her midterm. We focused on working through line theorems and angle relationships. We also worked on going over previous exams to correct the problems she did not understand the first time. She seemed to be comfortable with the information we went over after a couple of review questions. At our next session, we will go over her exercise medicine midterm packet."
"During our session today, the student and I completed more problems involving probabilities. His teacher is giving a small, one-question quiz on Wednesday involving a tree diagram, so I changed the problem a bit to give him practice. He did well today."
"The student and I continued the review for her chapter 7 test tomorrow. We started off with reviewing the problems I had asked her to complete for the prior sections and we went over the concepts again. Then we continued on to going over sections 7.4 and 7.5 and completing the review problems her teacher had assigned. Initially, she had trouble understanding the concepts, but once we started applying them she really understood the material. I asked her to review her chapter review, one last time, to prepare for her test tomorrow. I think she will do great! We will be meeting on Thursday to go over chapter 8.1."
