Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Function problems, exponent problems, avoiding simple algebraic errors, improving sentences questions. Session went well, and student is making progress."
"The student and I had a good first session! We examined the results of her practice test -- she scores pretty evenly across the board. We began going over the answers she had missed/omitted and identifying the mistakes she had made and strategies to avoid such mistakes in the future. We were able to complete an entire math section, reading section, and writing section. For next time, she is going to review the remainder of the test and come back with any questions."
"Since nerves were an issue on his prior SAT, this is going to become a component of our studies. In addition to going over a review of general math principles and formulas, we established a long-term plan to get the student ready without causing undue nervousness. We also practiced brainstorming. The quality of the student's writing is fine, but I want to make sure that he is used to quickly generating examples, even on subjects that initially seem foreign to him. Next week, we're going to finish our math review and refocus on critical reading, his other difficulty area on the last test."
