"We prepared for the student's Verbal Exam tomorrow in class for about 10 minutes. The rest of the time, I taught her the fundamentals of French spelling. She has an entire section of her notebook with French phonics. I know she practiced verb conjugations last week, which was helpful. She had a question as to how spelling is linked with how a word is used. I explained to her essentially that identical sounds are spelled differently according to how they are used. In French, spelling depends on sound and how that sound is used grammatically. She is going to take dictation from her mother in French at home. The words spelled incorrectly will be corrected and placed into the notebook according to the phonic system I made for her in her notebook. She is making good progress."
"The student and I went over the passe compose with avoir and etre and in some instances both. We went over reflective verbs and did examples for each."
"We went through a test that the student had taken on the passe compose with etre or avoir and proper agreement of past participle."
